Sri Lanka Cricket Likely to Postpone The Inaugural Edition of The Lanka Premier League

The inaugural edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) might be postponed again as the authorities are yet to receive permission from the government to host the marquee league despite the restrictions due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has already postponed and rescheduled the league two times since May.

Five foreign players, including Faf du Plessis, Andre Russell and David Miller, have withdrawn from the first Lanka Premier League (LPL). Miller and Du Plessis of South Africa and Dawid Malan of England will not be able to play in this league due to the limited-overs series between these two teams, while West Indies' Russell has pulled out due to a knee injury.
