The dispute flared up during the Legends League Cricket eliminator game on December 6, as Gautam Gambhir and ex-Indian pacer S Sreesanth engaged in a heated argument on the field.
Sreesanth went live on Instagram after the game, and stated that Gambhir used ‘rude’ words not fit for public disclosure. Surprisingly, a few hours later, Sreesanth unveiled the specifics of Gambhir’s comments, intensifying the controversy.
Sreesanth revealed that Gambhir called him “a fixer” during the face-off and added that he had not uttered a swear word at him. Here’s what the former Indian pacer said on the Instagram live:
“I have not used a single bad word or used a single abusive word to him. I only said, ‘What are you saying? What are you saying?’ In fact, I kept laughing in a sarcastic way because he kept calling me ‘Fixer, fixer, you are a fixer, F*** off fixer’. This is the language that was used. Even when the umpires were trying to control him, he kept on calling me fixer.”
