England responded strongly with 409, taking a huge first-innings lead. Harry Brook made 91, while Ali Usman was Pakistan’s best bowler with 5-95.

Pakistan needed a much better batting effort in the second innings, but their problems continued. They were dismissed for just 135, handing England a comfortable win on the third day.

Mohammad Rizwan fought hard with 41, but he received little support as England’s bowlers kept picking up wickets at regular intervals.

Ollie Robinson finished with 3-29 in the second innings, while Jofra Archer and Tongue also troubled Pakistan’s batters with their pace and movement.

The result highlighted Pakistan’s batting struggles throughout the Test. They failed to score 200 in either innings and were unable to handle England’s pace attack in helpful conditions.

For England, the victory was an ideal start to the home series. Their fast bowlers maintained pressure across both innings and gave Pakistan very little chance to build partnerships.

Pakistan will now need a major improvement with the bat in the second Test, while England will look to build on their dominant start and extend their series lead.
