Suryakumar Yadav had a light-hearted but embarrassing moment at the toss before India’s Asia Cup 2025 clash against Oman in Abu Dhabi. The Indian T20I captain, while announcing his team changes, forgot the name of one player and compared himself to Rohit Sharma.
India made two changes, and while Surya remembered Harshit Rana, he went completely blank on the second. With Ravi Shastri waiting for an answer, Surya laughed and said, “Oh my God, I’ve become like Rohit Sharma,” leaving everyone around in splits.
Surya later explained that India chose to bat first as their middle and lower order had not faced enough balls in the tournament. “We have not batted first in this competition, and we want to know our depth. Having game time is important going into the Super 4s,” he said.
