Prithvi Shaw loses temper after scoring 181 for Maharashtra, charges at Musheer Khan with bat in a fiery on-field clash during a practice match against Mumbai.
It was supposed to be another statement knock from Prithvi Shaw, but it ended in chaos. The Maharashtra opener, who switched sides from Mumbai earlier this year, smashed a blistering 181 off just 140 balls against his former team in a three-day practice match at Pune’s MCA Stadium.
But soon after his dismissal, things turned ugly. Shaw, who fell short of a double century after skying a slog sweep off Musheer Khan to deep fine leg, lost his cool when the bowler, younger brother of Sarfaraz Khan, reportedly gave him a fiery send-off.
Visibly furious, Shaw charged towards Musheer and swung his bat in anger before umpires and players rushed in to separate the two. The dramatic clash quickly spread across social media, with fans calling it one of the most shocking on-field moments in recent domestic games.

The 25-year-old had earlier dominated the Mumbai bowlers, hammering 305 runs in partnership with Arshin Kulkarni, reminding everyone of the talent that once made him one of India’s brightest young prospects. Shaw’s knock was also seen as a strong message to the selectors ahead of the Ranji Trophy season.
This is Shaw’s first major outing for Maharashtra since moving from Mumbai with a No-Objection Certificate earlier this year.
“At this stage of my career, I believe joining the Maharashtra team will help me grow further as a cricketer,” he had said after the switch.
