KL Rahul lost his cool at debutant Sai Sudharsan after a horror mix-up nearly cost his wicket on Day 1 of the IND vs WI 1st Test.
Day 1 of the first Test between India and West Indies in Ahmedabad saw a tense moment when KL Rahul nearly lost his wicket to a run-out after a horror mix-up with debutant Sai Sudharsan.
The incident unfolded in the 24th over of India’s innings. Sudharsan, still looking nervy at the crease, nudged a ball towards mid-wicket and immediately set off for a single.
Rahul responded quickly, but Sudharsan stopped midway, leaving the senior batter stranded in the middle of the pitch. A quick throw at the bowler’s end narrowly missed the stumps, sparing Rahul but not without consequences.
The wicketkeeper-batter was visibly furious, throwing a sharp glare at Sudharsan for the brainfade moment.

Sudharsan’s struggles continued as he failed to settle down against the West Indies attack. His scratchy stay ended on just 7 runs when he misjudged a short delivery from Roston Chase, attempting a pull shot that wasn’t on. He was trapped LBW, walking back disappointed.
Rahul, however, remained calm after the early scare and anchored India’s innings with yet another composed knock. After Yashasvi Jaiswal’s dismissal for 36, Rahul stitched together important runs with captain Shubman Gill.
He brought up a fluent half-century, ending the day unbeaten on 53 off 114 balls, with six fours to his name. Gill supported him with 18 not out as India closed at 121/2, trailing by 41 runs.
Earlier, India’s bowlers set the tone by bundling out West Indies for 162. Mohammed Siraj starred with 4 for 40, while Jasprit Bumrah claimed 3 wickets. Kuldeep Yadav chipped in with 2 for 25, tightening the screws on the visitors.
