Mohammad Amir’s Crying Video Goes Viral After Pakistan’s Defeat to India in Asia Cup Final
Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir gets emotional after Pakistan’s Asia Cup 2025 final loss to India, saying his team handed the match on a plate despite a strong start.
Pakistan’s defeat to India in the Asia Cup 2025 final has left former fast bowler Mohammad Amir emotional. In a video he shared on his X handle, Amir was teary-eyed as he spoke about how Pakistan let go of a golden chance to beat their arch-rivals.
India chased down 147 runs in Dubai with five wickets in hand, riding on Tilak Varma’s unbeaten 69, after being in early trouble at 20/3. Amir, visibly upset, said Pakistan handed the match away despite having the game in control.
“We gave the match on a plate to India. This was a huge opportunity, we could have won the game. India electing to field after winning the toss was good for us. In a final, it is always wise to bat first,” Amir said in the video, his voice trembling.
Amir pointed out how Pakistan wasted their strong start. “Runs on the board, especially in T20s, always create pressure. We were 113/1 in 11-12 overs, both openers were set. After that, I don’t understand what happened. 146 is not defendable,” he added.
Pakistan’s collapse from 113/1 to being bowled out for 146 left their bowlers with very little to defend. India’s chase was not smooth, but Tilak Varma held his nerve to finish the job.
Amir stressed that in modern T20 cricket, scores around 140–150 are no longer safe. “One good partnership, and such totals don’t stand a chance,” he explained.
