The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) CEO, Kavya Maran, was seen enthusiastically celebrating as the Mumbai Indians (MI) opener, Rohit Sharma, was dismissed during a recent IPL 2024 match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. The viral video is making waves on social media.
Mumbai Indians got off to a flying start in their chase for 278, thanks to Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan, who hammered a quickfire 56-run partnership in just 20 balls for the first wicket. Ishan Kishan departed after scoring 34 runs, but Rohit Sharma was going strong until he was dismissed by SRH captain Pat Cummins.
It all happened on the third ball of the fourth over. Just one ball before, Rohit Sharma smashed Cummins for a huge six. On the very next delivery, Cummins trapped Rohit Sharma with a short ball as he attempted a pull shot, but Abhishek Sharma made a grab at deep square leg.
As Rohit Sharma’s wicket fell, Kavya Maran, the owner of Sunrisers Hyderabad, erupted in jubilant celebration, fully aware of its significance.
