Tim Southee picked up the hat trick in the final over of the Indian innings.
New Zealand pacer Tim Southee claimed a magnificent hat-trick in the second T20 International match between India and New Zealand on Sunday, November 20 at Mount Maunganui.
With this Southee has now joined Sri Lankan bowling legend Lasith Malinga in an elite list of T20I bowlers who have taken more than one hat-trick in the shortest format of the game.

The 33-year-old Kiwi pacer finished the day with figures of 4-0-34-3. He picked all three of these wickets in the last over of India’s innings.
Southee first dismissed Indian stand-in captain Hardik Pandya on the third ball of the last over, and then on the next two deliveries, he dismissed Deepak Hooda and Washington Sundar for a golden duck.
The seasoned pacer just conceded five runs in the final over of India’s innings and made sure that Suryakumar Yadav, who clobbered an unbeaten 111 off 51 balls remained at the non-striker’s end as Indian finished with 191/6 after putting to bat first.
Southee has also extended his lead as the highest wicket-taker in the history of T20 Internationals. He now has 132 wickets in 106 matches, four more than the second-ranked player Shakib Al Hasan.
In reply, Deepak Hooda picked a sensational four-wicket haul while Yuzvendra Chahal and Mohammed Siraj picked two each as New Zealand was bundled out for 126 runs in 18.5 overs, losing the match by 65 runs.
