[Watch] Shaheen Afridi Bursts Into Tears After Pakistan’s Defeat to South Africa in World Cup Clash
Shaheen Afridi 45/3 heroics couldn't propel Pakistan to victory against South Africa
Pakistan’s pace spearhead, Shaheen Afridi, was spotted crying after Pakistan’s heart-wrenching one-wicket defeat against South Africa in a must-win match on Friday, October 27, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Pakistan, arriving at the South Africa match with three consecutive losses, found themselves in a do-or-die situation to remain in contention for the semifinals. However, they lost the nail-biting thriller, and their chances of securing a top-four spot have all but disappeared.
Shaheen Afridi bowled his heart out, giving away 45 runs and taking three crucial wickets in his 10 overs, but his heroics couldn’t propel his team to victory. Following the defeat, a video of him sitting in the dugout, visibly emotional, has taken social media by storm.
