Mitchell Marsh fell victim to Shami’s early dismissal in the very first over of Australia’s innings. Shami later returned to dismiss the threatening duo of Steve Smith and Marcus Stoinis. In the death overs, Shami completed his five-wicket haul by dismissing Matthew Short and Sean Abbott.
Shami’s sensational bowling display, yielding figures of 5/51 in 10 overs, marked a record-breaking moment as he overtook legendary Anil Kumble for the most four-plus wicket hauls by an Indian in ODIs.
