Zubayr Hamza Named Temba Bavuma’s Replacement for 2nd Test Against India
Temba Bavuma injured while fielding on the opening day of the first Test match between India vs South Africa
Zubayr Hamza will replace Temba Bavuma in the South Africa squad for the final Test to be played at Cape Town from January 3.
Bavuma, injured while fielding on the opening day of the Test match, had to withdraw from further participation in the game after scans unveiled a hamstring strain.
In his absence, Elgar will captain the side in the final match of his international career, having announced his decision to retire before the series.
Elgar assumed the captaincy for South Africa after Bavuma left the field during the first Test. Leading from the front, he scored 185 runs, guiding the hosts to victory by an innings and 32 runs at SuperSport Park.
