India kicked off their 2025–27 World Test Championship (WTC) campaign with a thrilling 2-2 draw against England. The final Test at The Oval ended with a six-run win for India, thanks to Mohammed Siraj’s five-wicket haul. The victory also continued England’s wait for a Test series win against India, which last came in 2018.
This series marked the beginning of a long WTC journey for India. So what’s next?
Here’s a full look at India’s upcoming Test matches in this WTC cycle.
India’s Next Test Assignments
India will now take a short break from red-ball cricket. Their next series will be at home in October 2025 against the West Indies.
- 1st Test vs West Indies: October 2–6 in Ahmedabad
- 2nd Test vs West Indies: October 10–14 in Delhi
After that, they will host South Africa in November 2025.
- 1st Test vs South Africa: November 14–18 in Kolkata
- 2nd Test vs South Africa: November 22–26 in Guwahati
In 2026, India will play a one-off Test against Afghanistan at home. This match will not be part of the WTC.
They will then travel to Sri Lanka and New Zealand later in the year, with two Tests each on those tours. The exact dates are yet to be announced.
