The spat between the two took place after Dawid Malan chipped the ball a little wide from Washington Sundar as the bowler went for a catch on his followthrough.
England, on Friday, beat India by eight wickets in the first T20I at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad to take the lead in the five-match series. While the fans witnessed how the visiting side outclassed the Virat Kohli and boys, there was another incident that caught everyone’s attention.
All-rounder Washington Sundar and Jonny Bairstow engaged in a heated conversation during England’s chase. The incident took place in the 14th over of the match, when Dawid Malan chipped a delivery from Sundar and the latter went for a catch off his delivery. However, the all-rounder couldn’t grab the ball as it hit Bairstow on the helmet as he was trying to get back in the crease.
Sundar was left perturbed with Bairstow’s reaction and he reacted angrily after the ball hit the 31-year-old on the helmet during the process. Before the scenes could get more intense, on-field umpire Nitin Menon barged in and normalized the situation.

England outclassed India in the first T20I at the Narendra Modi Stadium, securing an 8-wicket victory over the hosts. Jofra Archer shined with the ball, taking three wickets in the innings as the Indian batsman looked struggling on their return to the shortest format of the game.
While chasing, Jason Roy top-scored for England with 49, while Jos Buttler (28), Dawid Malan (24) and Jonny Bairstow (26) all looked impressive to lead England to a big win.
The second T20I will take place at the same venue on March 14.
