[WATCH] “Boring” – Shubman Gill Trolls Root-Stokes With Hilarious Sledge at Lord’s

Shubman Gill added some spice to the opening day of the third Test between India and England at Lord’s with his on-field banter.

The Indian captain was caught on the stump mic taking a cheeky dig at England batters Joe Root and Ollie Pope during a quiet passage of play. Fielding in the slips, Gill seemed unimpressed with England’s cautious approach.

During one of Jasprit Bumrah’s overs, after Pope left a ball alone, Gill chirped, “No more entertaining cricket, lads. Welcome to boring Test cricket.”

The comment was clearly aimed at England’s failure to live up to their “Bazball” reputation.

The banter brought a bit of humor to a session that had slowed down after an intense start.

India Start Strong at Lord’s

Earlier in the day, Nitish Kumar Reddy gave India the perfect start with two wickets in a single over. He dismissed Ben Duckett for 23 and Zak Crawley for 18, reducing England to 39/2.

Pope and Root steadied things for a while, taking the hosts to 83/2 at Lunch. After the break, Ravindra Jadeja removed Pope for 44, with Dhruv Jurel doing well behind the stumps as a substitute keeper.

Harry Brook followed soon after, bowled by Bumrah for 21. England ended Day 1 at 251/4, with Joe Root unbeaten on 99 and Ben Stokes on 39.
