Uganda Qualifies, Zimbabwe Eliminated from T20 World Cup 2024
Uganda beat Rwanda by nine wickets to secure their qualification in the T20 World Cup 2024.
In a significant development, Uganda earns a spot in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 by defeating Rwanda with a resounding nine-wicket victory during the World Cup qualifiers on Thursday, November 30. Meanwhile, Zimbabwe faces elimination from the upcoming tournament, set to be co-hosted by the USA and Caribbean in the coming year.
Batting first, Rwanda struggled as they were bowled out for mere 65 runs in 18.5 overs. Uganda responded emphatically, chasing down the target in just 8.1 overs with nine wickets in hand. Opener Simon Ssesazi led the charge, emerging as the top run-scorer with an unbeaten 26 from 21 balls.
The T20 World Cup will be played in the West Indies and the USA from June 4-30 next year.
