This comes after Dream11 ended its partnership with the BCCI following the passing of the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025, which bans real money-gaming platforms.

With the Asia Cup 2025 only weeks away, India currently finds itself without a jersey sponsor. According to reports, Toyota and a fintech start-up have shown interest in taking over the slot.

While the official tendering process is yet to begin, the BCCI is believed to be aiming for a deal bigger than the Rs 358 crore agreement it had with Dream11.

Why Did Dream11 Exit?

Dream11 became Team India’s jersey sponsor in 2023 in a high-value deal that was expected to last several years.

However, the new law banning money-based online games forced the partnership to end early.

The government had argued that such games caused financial distress and psychological issues for many users, leaving Dream11 with no option but to pull out.

Now, BCCI is working against the clock to finalize a replacement before the Asia Cup kicks off in September. If talks with Toyota progress, Indian cricket may see a global automobile giant featured on the national team’s kit for the first time.
