The Hundred: Quinton de Kock And Devon Conway Announced As Replacements Of David Warner and Marcus Stoinis

“The Hundred” is going to be one of the most unique and interesting tournaments, world is going to witness. The new 100 ball format game has been proposed by England and Wales Cricket Board and it is going to get underway from July 21, 2021.

Many players have been roped in by different teams for the league. Meanwhile, ahead of the tournament, Australian pair David Warner and Marcus Stoinis withdrew from the inaugural edition of new 100-ball competition because of coronavirus restrictions earlier this month.

However, the club Southern Brave has already announced their replacements and Quinton de Kock and Devon Conway would be joining the team as their replacements. Quinton de Kock has been a big name for South African cricket. Conway, on the other hand has already proved why he is going to dominate the upcoming years in cricket.

“Australian players David Warner and Marcus Stoinis, who have had to pull out due to conflicting schedules and travel challenges due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic,” said the club in a release.

“While we are disappointed that David Warner and Marcus Stoinis will not be available for our men’s team, we are delighted to welcome both Devon and Quinton to the side. They are both quality cricketers who will add power and excitement up the top of the order for us,” said Giles White, Southern Brave General Manager.

De Kock, talking about his participation in the inaugural season of “The Hundred” says he is “really excited” to link up with Southern Brave men’s head coach Mahela Jayawardena again after working with him previously at Mumbai Indians in the IPL.

“Hopefully we can have plenty of fans in to support us and we can give them something to cheer about,” wicket-keeper batsman De Kock added.

Conway is also excited for the upcoming season of the Hundred.

“I’m really excited to have joined Southern Brave. I have really enjoyed my time playing in the UK so far, and I’m looking forward to getting stuck in with the team and taking part in the first season of The Hundred,” said Conway as quoted by Cricbuzz.
