Swastik Chikara in UP T20 League: RCB youngster’s team and stats you should know
RCB’s Swastik Chikara, star of Meerut Mavericks, eyes another big UP T20 League season.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s youngster Swastik Chikara is one of the brightest batting talents to come out of the Uttar Pradesh T20 League.
Representing Meerut Mavericks, the right-hander enjoyed a dream season last year which directly helped him earn an IPL contract.
Chikara finished the 2024 UP T20 League as the tournament’s leading run-scorer. In 12 innings, he scored 499 runs at an average of 49.90 and a blazing strike rate of 185.50.
His tally included one century and five half-centuries. The most memorable knock came against Gorakhpur Lions when he smashed 114, showing both maturity and aggression.
His consistent batting was a big reason behind Meerut Mavericks’ strong campaign. Selectors and scouts were quick to notice, and RCB picked him up for INR 30 lakh at the IPL 2025 auction.
For the 21-year-old, it was a dream come true. However, despite being part of the RCB squad, Chikara did not get a chance in the playing eleven during the 2025 IPL season.
That makes the upcoming UP T20 League even more crucial for him. The tournament begins on August 17, with all matches scheduled to be played in Lucknow.
If Chikara continues his form and produces another strong season, he will once again grab the spotlight and push his case for bigger opportunities in the IPL.
