Suryakumar Yadav Wants To Play Tests and ODIs for India

Suryakumar Yadav has expressed his desire to play all three formats for India.

Mumbai’s T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, has announced that he will be available to participate in one match for Mumbai in this year’s Buchi Babu Invitational multi-day tournament.

Suryakumar Yadav will play in the second match for Mumbai CA XI against Tamil Nadu Cricket Association XI in Coimbatore, scheduled from August 27 to 30. Ishan Kishan will also play in this tournament.

Sarfaraz Khan, known for his Test prowess, has been appointed as the captain of the Mumbai side. Suryakumar Yadav, who has previously captained the team, will join as a player, alongside Ishan Kishan.

“Surya wants to play in all three formats for India and as he has always been available for Mumbai whenever free, it won’t be otherwise this year too,” MCA Source told PTI on conditions of anonymity.

“He will play tourneys like Buchi Babu, KSCA apart from Ranji Trophy where his presence will also motivate the youngsters in the team,” another MCA source said.

The tournament will be hosted at four locations in Tamil Nadu this year: Tirunelveli, Salem, Coimbatore, and Natham.

Following their unexpected loss to Sri Lanka in the ODI series, Rohit Sharma has called on Indian players to participate in domestic cricket during the break, as selections will be based on domestic performance.
