Two Patriots players and a CPL official were robbed at gunpoint in Barbados, all safe as investigation continues.

The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) was shaken by a late-night robbery in Barbados on September 9, when two St Kitts and Nevis Patriots players and a CPL official were attacked at gunpoint.

The incident took place around 3 am as the group was returning to their hotel after stopping for food. The assailants targeted jewellery and other valuables. In the chaos, one of the attackers dropped a firearm, which has since been secured by police.

Thankfully, no one was injured. However, the episode has left players and officials stunned. To protect their privacy, the names of the victims have not been disclosed.

Barbados Police confirmed that the weapon is now in their custody and that an active investigation is underway. Security measures have been increased around the Patriots squad in the wake of the incident.

The franchise issued a statement assuring that their players and the CPL staff member are safe and cooperating fully with the authorities. A CPL spokesperson added that the league’s main focus is the well-being of those involved and the case is being handled by local police.
