Shakib Al Hasan Names Indian Player Who Single-Handedly Wins Matches for India – And It’s Not Virat Kohli

Shakib Al Hasan praised Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain, ahead of the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Ahead of their warm-up clash with India, veteran Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has lauded Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain, stating that he is capable of winning matches for his team single-handedly.

The Asian rivals are scheduled to compete in a warm-up match at Nassau County Cricket Stadium in New York this Saturday. In a Star Sports video shared on X, Shakib said:

“I think the way he led India in the last few years was terrific. He has a tremendous record as a captain. I think all the players respect him as a leader of the team and he’s someone who can take the game away from the opponent single-handedly.”

Rohit Sharma, Shakib Al Hasan to Unlock Historic Achievement

Notably, Rohit Sharma and Shakib Al Hasan stand out as the only two players in the tournament’s history to participate in every edition of the T20 World Cup. No other player has matched this remarkable achievement.

India clinched their maiden T20 World Cup title in the inaugural edition in 2007, marking a historic achievement, while Bangladesh is still vying for their first taste of success in the tournament.
