Shai Hope and Jayden Seales Shine as West Indies Crush Pakistan by 202 Runs
Shai Hope’s unbeaten 120 and Jayden Seales’ 6/18 power West Indies to a 202-run win over Pakistan to seal the ODI series.
West Indies thrashed Pakistan by 202 runs in the third ODI at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba on August 12, sealing the series in style.
Batting first, the hosts lost Brandon King early for 5, but Evin Lewis’s 37 and Keacy Carty’s 17 steadied the start. Captain Shai Hope then took control with a brilliant unbeaten 120 off 94 balls, hitting 10 fours and 5 sixes at a strike rate above 127.
Sherfane Rutherford chipped in with 15 before Roston Chase added a quick 36 from 29 balls. In the final overs, Justin Greaves smashed 43 not out from just 24 deliveries, pushing the total to 294 for 6. For Pakistan, Abrar Ahmed impressed with 2 for 34, while Naseem Shah claimed 2 for 72.
Pakistan’s chase fell apart almost instantly. Jayden Seales tore through the top order, removing Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan for single-digit scores. He finished with a sensational 6 for 18 in 7.2 overs.
Only Salman Agha (30) and Mohammad Nawaz (23 not out) offered any resistance as Pakistan were bowled out for 92 in 29.2 overs. Gudakesh Motie took two wickets and Roston Chase added one more.
This was one of West Indies’ biggest ODI wins in terms of runs. Hope’s captain’s knock and Seales’ fiery spell ensured the home side ended the series on a high. Hope was named Player of the Match for his unbeaten century and sharp leadership.
