‘Selection Nhi Hoga’ – Aakash Chopra’s Bold Remarks On Ishan Kishan Ahead of IPL 2024
Ishan Kishan missed his BCCI central contract after reports of his issues with the Indian management
Former Indian cricketer Akash Chopra believes that Mumbai Indians opener Ishan Kishan is set for an outstanding season in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, especially after his recent omission from the BCCI central contract.
Ishan Kishan, who returned to India mid-tour during the South Africa series and later missed the test matches against South Africa, is reportedly having some issues with the Indian management.
The wicket-keeper batter also declined to participate in the test series against England, prompting the BCCI to request his participation in the Ranji Trophy before considering his return. However, he refused, leading to the BCCI releasing him from the central contract.
Ishan Kishan Will Be Hungry: Aakash Chopra
Aakash Chopra shared on his YouTube channel that with Ishan Kishan not engaged in other cricketing commitments, his sole focus will be on IPL 2023 as he aims to excel and cement his spot in the T20 World Cup 2024.
Here’s what Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube channel:
“There is nothing to prove per se, but, then, there is a lot to prove. I feel he will hit a lot as he is not the captain. Ishan Kishan will be hungry, as he has not got a central contract. This is the only thing he is playing. What else is he playing? Either he has denied to play, or he is not going to be selected so this is his chance.”
