“Say It On My Face!” – Shahid Afridi Challenges Irfan Pathan After Dog Comment
Shahid Afridi challenges Irfan Pathan to speak face to face after the Indian all-rounder recalled a fiery exchange from 2006.
Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has hit back at Irfan Pathan after the Indian all-rounder recalled a heated exchange from their playing days. Afridi challenged Pathan to confront him directly instead of speaking in interviews.
“I consider someone a man who talks in front of the face. Anyone can talk behind the back, but I only like to talk to those who can converse in front of my face. I will enjoy then as I can give a reply,” Afridi said on Samaa TV.
The fresh spark came after Irfan shared an old story from the 2006 India tour of Pakistan. He revealed that Afridi once tried to mess up his hair during a flight, which led to a sharp comeback from him.
“Abdul Razzaq was sitting with me, and I asked him about the different types of meat available in Pakistan. He was surprised and asked the reason. I told him that Afridi must have eaten the dog’s meat, and that’s why he is barking,” Irfan recalled in an interview with Lallantop.
The two all-rounders often clashed on the field as well. Irfan bowled 154 deliveries to Afridi in international cricket and dismissed him nine times. Their rivalry seems to have extended well beyond their playing careers.
