SA vs IND: Avesh Khan Added to India’s Test Squad for 2nd Test Against South Africa
Avesh Khan has been added to India’s Test squad.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named Avesh Khan as the replacement for Mohammed Shami in India’s squad for the second Test against South Africa, citing Shami’s ongoing injury.
Shami, initially chosen for the South Africa tour, couldn’t meet the fitness criteria in time for the series kick-off. With his unavailability extending to the second Test, the BCCI chose to replace him with Avesh Khan.
“The Men’s Selection Committee has named Mr Avesh Khan as a replacement for Mr Mohd. Shami for the second Test against South Africa to be played from 3rd-7th January 2024 in Cape Town,” the BCCI said in a press release.
