Rohit Sharma Heaps Praise on Pakistan Captain Amid IND-PAK Tensions
Rohit Sharma recalls Rizwan’s key wicket by Bumrah in India’s 6-run win vs Pakistan in T20 World Cup 2024 thriller

The India vs Pakistan battle in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 was nothing short of a nail-biting thriller. Played under high pressure, the match saw Team India edging out Pakistan by six runs in a low-scoring contest.
As fans celebrate the anniversary of India’s historic T20 World Cup win, Rohit Sharma has shared his thoughts on one of the biggest turning points of the game, Mohammad Rizwan’s dismissal.
Rohit Sharma Looks Back at Rizwan’s Crucial Wicket
In a special show titled ‘Champions Wali Feeling Fir Se’, India’s T20 World Cup-winning captain Rohit Sharma reflected on the tension-filled clash. Chasing a target of 120, Pakistan were 73 for 3 with skipper Mohammad Rizwan trying to steady the innings.
However, Jasprit Bumrah delivered a match-turning blow by removing Rizwan in the 15th over.
“This was a big wicket in the context of the game,” said Rohit, speaking about Rizwan.
“With where the game was heading, a set batter… and Rizwan is such a quality player for them who has got so many runs in the past. So it was very important to get him out at that time.”
Bumrah The Saviour, Again
Rizwan, who had scored 31 and looked settled, tried to break the shackles with a big shot but misjudged Bumrah’s delivery and got out.
That one breakthrough completely shifted the momentum. The rest of Pakistan’s batting collapsed, and they were eventually bowled out for 113.
A Win to Remember
India defended their total of 119 in style. Despite the modest score, the Indian bowling attack, led by Bumrah, kept their nerves and brought home a thrilling 6-run win.
That victory became one of the biggest highlights of India’s campaign and helped them build momentum towards lifting the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy.
