Rashid Khan Returns As Afghanistan Names Squad for South Africa ODI Series

Rashid Khan has returned to Afghanistan squad after his long injury hiatus.

Afghanistan Cricket Board’s selection panel has announced the squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against South Africa, which will be held from September 18 to 22 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, UAE.

The Afghan team will be without their star top-order batsman Ibrahim Zadran, who has been ruled out with a left ankle sprain. Meanwhile, spinner Mujeeb-ur-Rahman is also set to miss the series, still recovering from a right phalanx injury.

Meanwhile, Abdul Malik, a talented right-hand top-order batter who shined in recent domestic List A matches, has been selected as a replacement for the injured Zadran.

Darwish Rasooli, who has seven T20I caps and consistent form in the List A Cup and SCL9, has also been named in the squad for the South Africa series.
