PSL 2024: ‘Best Finisher in Our Country’ – Losing Captain Shaheen Afridi Lauds Iftikhar Ahmed
Shaheen Afridi led Lahore Qalandars lost their third consecutive match in PSL 2024.
Lahore Qalandars’ captain Shaheen Afridi praised Iftikhar Ahmed for his outstanding contribution as he steered Multan Sultans to a comprehensive five-wicket triumph at Multan Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, February 21.
Iftikhar Ahmed delivered an outstanding innings, smashing an unbeaten 34 runs off only 11 balls, which included five boundaries and two sixes. His onslaught, especially the 24 runs scored off Zaman Khan in the penultimate over, ensured victory.
Here’s what Shaheen Afridi said in the post-match conference:
“Iftikhar Ahmed and Khushdil Shah are the best finishers in Pakistan and we need them firing for our country too. It’s great to see them performing in the PSL.”
Notably, Lahore Qalandars suffered their third consecutive defeat of the season while Multan Sultans registered their third victory in a row.
