Pommie Mbangwa Names IPL 2020 Overseas XI, Picks Eoin Morgan as Captain
Renowned cricket expert Pommie Mbangwa has picked playing XI of IPL 2020, full of overseas player. He picked Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Eoin Morgan as the captain of his playing XI.
After the conclusion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, many cricket experts and Pundits are coming up with their opinions about team and players. Whereas many have picked their playing XI of the latest edition of the Indian Premier League.
Meanwhile, renowned cricket expert Pommie Mbangwa has done something different. He has picked playing XI of IPL 2020 which is full of an overseas player. In short, one can say, he picked IPL Overseas Playing XI.
IPL 2020 came to an end last week with the final between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals in Dubai in which Rohit Sharma led side lifted the trophy for the fifth time in 13 years.
Starting with openers, he picked SunRisers Hyderabad’s skipper and opener David Warner, who has crosses 500 run mark for the sixth consecutive time in IPL. In the latest edition, he accumulated 548 runs in 16 games. Along with Warner, he picked Mumbai Indians’ opener Quinton de Kock, who helped his side in lifting the IPL 2020 trophy. He scored 503 runs in 16 games.
For number three, he picked Royal Challengers Bangalore’s star batsman AB de Villiers, who accumulated 454 runs and helped his side to make it to the playoffs.
For number four, he picked Kolkata Knight Riders’ skipper Eoin Morgan. He also named him as the captain of his playing XI. At the same time, he also sprung a surprise by naming Morgan as the captain. Under Morgan, KKR won only three of their last seven games.
For number five and six, he picked Rajasthan Royals Jos Buttler, who scored 328 runs in 12 games and Mumbai Indians star all-rounder Kieron Pollard, who accumulated 268 runs in 16 games.
For number seven, he again picked an all-rounder, Chris Morris.
As long as the bowling line up is concerned, Mbangwa picked Jofra Archer, Kagiso Rabada, Trent Boult and Rashid Khan.
Kagiso Rabada is also the purple cap winner of the tournament with 30 wickets in 17 games. Archer, on the other hand, was awarded the ‘Most Valuable Player’ of the tournament. He took 20 wickets in 14 games.
Mumbai Indians’ key bowler Trent Boult is third in the list of highest wicket-taker with 25 wickets in 15 games.
