PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi Moves Asia Cup Trophy to Secret Location from ACC Headquarters
ACC chief Mohsin Naqvi reportedly moves Asia Cup trophy to Abu Dhabi, keeping it away from India nearly a month after their win.
The Asia Cup trophy is still out of India’s hands nearly a month after their win. Reports say ACC president and PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi has moved the trophy from the ACC headquarters in Dubai to an undisclosed location in Abu Dhabi.
India lifted the Asia Cup on September 28, 2025, beating Pakistan in the final. But the official handover has not happened yet. Sources say a BCCI official recently visited the ACC office in Dubai and was told that the trophy is now under Naqvi’s control in Abu Dhabi.
This is the latest twist in what has already been a dramatic situation. India had refused to accept the trophy directly from Naqvi after the final. Since then, Naqvi has set different conditions for giving the trophy to the winners.
Earlier, reports said the trophy was locked inside the ACC office at the ICC Academy complex in Dubai. Officials claim it could not be removed without Naqvi’s approval. The BCCI has officially requested the ACC to hand over the trophy to India, but there has been no formal response.
Naqvi has suggested a proper handover ceremony and said the trophy would only be given when a player comes to receive it. This has extended the standoff and created confusion around the Asia Cup celebration.
