Pakistan Team Shifted to New Hotel Before India Clash – Here’s Why
Pakistan Cricket team has been shifted to new hotel in USA ahead of their much-anticipated clash against India in the T20 World Cup 2024.
The Pakistan Cricket Team will now be staying significantly closer to the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York thanks to the intervention of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.
According to Geo News sources, Naqvi expressed his dissatisfaction with the originally assigned hotel, which was reportedly 90 minutes from the venue.
Following his communication with the ICC, the World Cup management team has relocated the Pakistan team to a new hotel just five minutes away from the stadium.
This move will undoubtedly benefit the team in terms of travel time and pre-match preparation for their highly anticipated clash against India on June 9th.
Both India and Pakistan are placed in Group A and will play their other group-stage match against Canada on June 11th, also at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium.
India Kicks Off World Cup In Style
Meanwhile, India, led by Rohit Sharma, kicked off their T20 World Cup campaign with a convincing 8-wicket win over Ireland on Wednesday. They will be aiming to secure their first T20 World Cup title since the inaugural edition in 2007.
India holds the upper hand historically in T20 World Cup encounters, having won five out of the seven matches played between the two sides. Pakistan has managed just one win and one tie against their neighbours in the tournament.
