Pakistan Pacer Mohammad Amir to Play for Shah Rukh Khan-Owned Franchise

Mohammad Amir has joined Shah Rukh Khan-owned Trinbago Knight Riders for CPL 2025.

Pakistan’s former left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir is all set to feature for Trinbago Knight Riders in the 2025 edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). His name was picked during the player draft held on June 18.

Star-Studded Knight Riders Squad Gets Stronger

Trinbago Knight Riders are already one of the strongest sides in the CPL. Before the draft, they retained six big names — Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Nicholas Pooran, Akeal Hosein, and Alex Hales.

After adding Mohammad Amir, along with other overseas recruits like Colin Munro, Usman Tariq, and Ali Khan, the squad looks even more balanced and dangerous.

Amir’s Consistency In T20 Leagues

Although Amir has retired from international cricket, he has been a regular face in T20 leagues around the world. In the CPL, he has played for Barbados Royals, Jamaica Tallawahs, and Antigua and Barbuda Falcons since 2021. He has picked up 51 wickets in 39 CPL matches, proving his effectiveness in Caribbean conditions.

In total, Amir has featured in 331 T20 matches and has taken 381 wickets, showing how consistent he has been across leagues. His ability to swing the new ball and bowl yorkers in the death overs makes him a valuable asset for any T20 side.

TKR Aim For Fifth CPL Title

Trinbago Knight Riders last lifted the CPL trophy in 2020. They were knocked out in the Eliminator last season and will now be looking for a comeback. With a power-packed squad and Amir’s experience in their bowling attack, the Kieron Pollard-led side will aim to go all the way in CPL 2025.
