Pakistan Captain Babar Azam Accused of Match Fixing Against India, USA During T20 World Cup
Babar Azam has reportedly received a car, but he lied about it, claiming he received it as a gift from his brother.
Under the leadership of Babar Azam, the Pakistan team suffered another group-stage exit in an ICC event, making an early exit in the 2024 T20 World Cup and failing to qualify for the Super Eight.
In the middle of all this mess, senior Pakistan journalist Mubashir Luqman has uncovered a scandal that could rock the sport in Pakistan. He stated that Babar Azam got an Audi E-Tron recently and lied about it being a gift from his brother.
Upon investigation, the journalist found that it wasn’t actually from his brother. Here’s what Mubashir Luqman said:
“Just a few days ago, Babar Azam received an Audi E-Tron. It’s a fantastic car, and I also own one, but he will regret it when its electric boards start bursting in the rain. Babar mentioned that his brother gifted him the car, but I found out his brother does absolutely nothing” Luqman said.
“When I inquired about the car, a source told me, ‘If you lose matches against America, Afghanistan, the Netherlands, or Ireland, won’t you get cars, houses in DHA, plots in Australia, and apartments in Dubai?'”
“Everyone knows who the bookies are in the Pakistan team, who gets along with them, and how Saya Corps has used the players to blackmail PCB, and brought the board to its knees. During the last World Cup in India, eight players refused to play, telling others to stand with them, promising increased pay, and all of them got contracts worth 50 lakh,” Luqman added.
With this video going viral on social media, fans of the Pakistan cricket team are urging the Pakistan Cricket Board to start an investigation.
Meanwhile, Babar Azam’s captaincy is in jeopardy following Pakistan’s dismal performance in consecutive ICC events. It remains to be seen if decisive action will be taken.
