The ICC has announced the nominees for Men's Player of the Month for November

The International Cricket Council (ICC), on Tuesday (December 6) announced the nominees for Men’s Player of the Month for November.

The shortlist for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for November features two stars of England’s T20 World Cup winning campaign – Jos Buttler and Adil Rashid while the third one is Pakistan’s premier pacer Shaheen Afridi.

The T20 World cup winning captain mustered 207 runs in November, including an unbeaten 80 off just 49 balls in the semi-final against India. 

He guided England to a thumping 10-wicket alongside opener Alex Hales.

The wicket-keeper batter finished the tournament as the top run-scorer for England, with 225 runs.

He didn’t get the dream start to the T20 World Cup campaign. However as the tournament progressed, he came out as one of the standout performers for the Three Lions with the ball. 

He could manage only four wickets across the four T20Is he played during the month, however, his stellar economy rate of 5.70 helped England push the opposition on backfoot.  

The English spinner claimed economical figures of 1/20 in the semi-final against India and backed it with another tournament-winning performance – 2/22 against Pakistan in the finals.

Shaheen Afridi, who returned from a knee injury, finished the T20 World Cup 2022 as Pakistan’s highest-wicket taker in the tournament.

The left-arm quick scalped 11 wickets at an economy of 6.15 and an average of 14.09. He registered match-winning figures worth 4/22 in the must-win game against Bangladesh in the Super 12 stage.
