‘No Place for Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill, and Rishabh Pant in T20 World Cup 2024’ – Simon Doull
Simon Doull wants Shivam Dube to play in T20 World Cup above Hardik Pandya.
Former New Zealand cricketer Simon Doull urges Indian chief selector Ajit Agarkar to consider Virat Kohli as the opening batter for the T20 World Cup 2024, scheduled in the USA and West Indies.
Also, Doull does not want the Mumbai Indians’ captain and all-rounder, Hardik Pandya, to play for India in the T20 World Cup 2024, opting instead for CSK all-rounder star Shivam Dube over the Baroda all-rounder.
In addition, Simon Doull supports Rajasthan Royals’ wicket-keeper and captain Sanju Samson for the wicket-keeping role, opposing the selection of Rishabh Pant as India’s wicket-keeper in the T20 World Cup 2024.
“It sounds stupid to me but if Jaiswal is out. But if that’s the case, you could have Sanju at 3, Suryakumar at 4, Dube and Rinku at 5 and 6, Jadeja at 7,” he added.
Although Simon Doull has selected Virat Kohli as the opening batter for Team India in the T20 World Cup 2024, he has left the decision between Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal, to the selectors for the opening slot alongside Kohli.
