Former Australia captain Mark Taylor believes that India captain Virat Kohli is a very ‘powerful’ guy in the world of cricket. Not just that, he also feels that Kohli greatly respects the responsibility of being captain. Taylor also said that Virat Kohli does a very good job of being a statesman as well as an aggressive cricketer.

Team India has already reached Sydney on November 12 and currently, they are under quarantine. However, they are allowed to train under quarantine so all the star players are busy preparing themselves for the biggest battle of the year.

India will play three ODIs, as many T20Is and four-Test match series, starting from December 17 in Adelaide.

Meanwhile, India captain will play only one Test, the opening day-night fixture in Adelaide, apart from the limited-overs series. Kohli will be flying back to India to be with his wife Anushka Sharma as they are expecting the birth of their first child.

“I think he is a very powerful guy in world cricket, but I think he does a very good job to walk that fine line in being an aggressive cricketer and also a statesman. I think he’s doing it very well,” Taylor was quoted as saying by The Sydney Morning Herald.

“I think he treats that responsibility with great respect,” the former Australia skipper said.

“He’s still very much his own person when you watch him play.”

The 56-year-old also said that he finds Virat Kohli being very respectful to the game and those playing it and those who have played it.

“I’ve always found him in the times I’ve spoken to him to be very respectful to the game and those playing it and those who have played it,” he added.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy will begin with a day-night battle at the Adelaide Oval on December 17, followed by Tests at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on December 26, the Sydney Cricket Ground on January 7 and the Gabba on January 15.
