LSG to Part Ways With Head Coach Justin Langer After Reported Fallout With Zaheer Khan
Justin Langer is likely to be sacked by LSG after a reported fallout with team mentor Zaheer Khan

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are likely to part ways with head coach Justin Langer after a disappointing IPL 2025 season.
As per reports, an internal rift and lack of chemistry between Langer and senior team members, especially mentor Zaheer Khan, have created tension within the camp.
Sources close to the franchise have revealed that Langer has not been communicating much with the players or team support staff in recent weeks.
Instead, Zaheer Khan is currently managing most of the duties, including mentoring young players and overseeing training sessions.
Rift Between Langer and Zaheer Khan
Justin Langer, who was brought in as head coach ahead of IPL 2023 on Gautam Gambhir’s recommendation, has reportedly had an “ugly fight” with Zaheer Khan during this season. Since then, their working relationship has only worsened.
LSG’s performance in IPL 2025 has been underwhelming, and the internal issues seem to have played a role in their poor run. The lack of coordination between the coaching staff has also affected team spirit and on-field results.
Zaheer Khan Likely To Take Over
The franchise is expected to make an official announcement about Langer’s exit in the coming weeks. If Langer steps down or is sacked, Zaheer Khan could be appointed as the new head coach ahead of IPL 2026.
While Langer came with international coaching experience, his inability to connect with the players and coaching staff seems to have cost him the job.
As of now, no official confirmation has been made by the LSG management, but strong indications suggest that changes in the coaching setup are on the way.
