“Last Time” – Rohit Sharma Leaves Australia With Emotional Message
Rohit Sharma bids emotional farewell to Australia after scoring a century and finishing as player of the series in the ODI series against Australia.
Rohit Sharma has left Australia as a relieved and proud man after what appears to be his final tour down under. The Indian white-ball stalwart ended the series with a brilliant century in Sydney, finishing as the player of the series with a half-century and a hundred across three ODIs.
Sharma, who has been one of India’s most prolific run-scorers and led the team to T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy victories, shared an emotional post on instagram, bidding goodbye to Australia. He reflected on the special moments he has experienced in the country throughout his career.
Despite India losing the series, Rohit showed that he remains mentally and physically strong. His performance sends a clear message that he is ready for more challenges and could still play a key role in India’s plans for the 2027 ODI World Cup under captain Shubman Gill.
Rohit has always had a special connection with Australia. In 49 ODI matches against the hosts, he has scored 2,609 runs at an average of 59.29. One of his three ODI double hundreds, a 209 in 2013, came against Australia. On Australian soil, he has played 33 ODIs, scoring 1,530 runs at an average of 56.66, including six hundreds and five fifties.
The century in Sydney might be the last chapter of Rohit’s long and successful Australian journey. Over more than a decade, he has shown time and again that he can dominate one of the strongest sides in world cricket, making him one of the finest white-ball players of his era.
