“Jassi Bhai Khelenge!” Siraj Confirms Bumrah Fit for 4th Test vs England

Mohammed Siraj confirms Jasprit Bumrah will play the 4th Test vs England at Old Trafford; Akash Deep remains doubtful

India’s biggest bowling weapon is back. Jasprit Bumrah is all set to play the 4th Test against England at Old Trafford, Manchester, and the confirmation has come straight from the horse’s mouth, Mohammed Siraj.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Siraj brushed aside any doubts over Bumrah’s fitness, saying, “Jassi bhai to khelenge.”

That’s a big relief for Team India, especially after the heartbreak at Lord’s. With the series now at 2-1 in England’s favour, India will need all guns blazing to bounce back.

Bumrah Rested at Edgbaston, Back for Manchester

Earlier reports had hinted that Bumrah was supposed to feature in only three of the five Tests. He already missed the third Test at Edgbaston, and there were concerns that he might also skip the Old Trafford clash. However, that won’t be the case.

“Combination is changing but we need to bowl in good areas. Plan is simple – stick to good areas,” Siraj added, as quoted by TOI’s Sahil Malhotra.

India have never won a Test at Old Trafford, and Bumrah’s return could be the boost they need to rewrite that stat.

Akash Deep’s Fitness in Doubt

While Bumrah’s return is great news, India could still face a selection headache. Siraj also gave an update on Akash Deep, who is struggling with a groin injury.

“Akash Deep has a groin issue, he bowled today and now physios will see,” Siraj said.

If Akash Deep is ruled out, India will have limited options. With Arshdeep Singh unavailable and Prasidh Krishna out of rhythm, the spotlight is now on Anshul Kamboj.

The Haryana fast bowler recently joined the squad in the UK and could be in line for a surprise debut on Wednesday.
