‘Jashn Manaane se Saavadhaan Rahen’: Kevin Pietersen Warns Team India in Hindi Ahead of England Test Series
Kevin Pietersen issued a warning to India ahead of England's tour to the country, asking the Indians to not celebrate too much after the Australia win as "the real challenge" awaits.
Team India, on Tuesday wrote history at The Gabba in Brisbane as they managed to beat a full-strength Australian side with a second-string Indian team and retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2-1.
It was India’s second consecutive Test series win in Australia and only the second on Australian soil. India now return home after a nearly three-month-long tour and get ready to face England in four Tests starting February 5 with the first game in Chennai.
Meanwhile, Ajinkya Rahane-led Team India side received a healthy warning from former batting maestro Kevin Pietersen ahead of the upcoming bilateral Test series against England.
Kevin Pietersen’s, on Tuesday after India won the Border Gavaskar Trophy tweeted in Hindi language, which left the netizens amused as the former England skipper asked India to celebrate their monumental Test series-win over Australia but also warned that the ‘real team’ is coming to take them on.
“India – yeh aitihaasik jeet ka jashn manaye kyuki yeh sabhi baadhao ke khilaap hasil hui hai (India celebrate this historic win because it has come after overcoming all the obstacles),” Pietersen tweeted.
“LEKIN, ASLI TEAM toh kuch hafto baad a rahi hai jisse aapko harana hoga apne ghar mein (But the real team is coming after a few weeks and you have to beat it in your own backyard),” he wrote referring to India’s next assignment against England at home.
“Satark rahe, 2 saptaah mein bahut adhik jashn manaane se saavadhaan rahen (Stay alert and don’t over-celebrate in these two weeks),” added the former England captain.
India Announce Squad For First Two Tests
On the day after registering a historic win at The Gabba against Australia, Team India have announced their squads for the first two Tests against England. The Test series which is set to begin from February 5, will witness the return of skipper Virat Kohli who had travelled back home after the first Test against Australia for the birth of his first child.
The selection panel led by Chetan Sharma has also brought back veteran speedster Ishant Sharma, who had been ruled out of the Australia tour with an injury whereas Hardik Pandya could also don the whites despite having lost his father a few days ago.
