James Anderson To Make The Hundred Debut for Sanjiv Goenka’s Manchester Originals
James Anderson to debut in The Hundred for Manchester Originals at age 43; Rocky Flintoff joins dad Andrew at Superchargers.
England legend James Anderson is all set to play in The Hundred for the first time. At 43, Anderson was picked as a wildcard by Sanjiv Goenka-owned Manchester Originals.
Anderson retired from Test cricket earlier this year after becoming England’s highest wicket-taker, but clearly, he isn’t done with the game just yet.
Anderson will now play the 100-ball format for the very first time, giving fans a rare chance to watch him in a shorter, high-paced version of the game.
Meanwhile, up north, it’s a family affair at Northern Superchargers. Rocky Flintoff, just 17 years old, has been picked in the squad. The teenager is the son of former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff, who is also the coach of the Superchargers.
With Rocky in the team and his father guiding the squad, all eyes will be on the Flintoffs this season.
The 2025 edition of The Hundred began with a clash between London Spirit and Oval Invincibles. Oval Invincibles won the match comfortably by six wickets.
