IPL 2025: Suryakumar Yadav Creates History, Breaks Sachin Tendulkar’s 15-Year MI Record

Suryakumar Yadav has broken Sachin Tendulkar’s 15-year-old record to become the highest run-scorer for Mumbai Indians in a single IPL season.

Suryakumar Yadav has created history in IPL 2025 by breaking a long-standing record held by the legendary Sachin Tendulkar.

During the match against Punjab Kings, Suryakumar crossed the 618-run mark in a single season, which was previously the highest by a Mumbai Indians batter. Tendulkar had set the record in 2010, and it remained untouched for 15 years until now.

In IPL 2010, Sachin scored 618 runs with an average of 47.53 and a strike rate of 132.61. Suryakumar Yadav came close in 2023 with 605 runs but couldn’t go past Sachin’s tally.

However, in IPL 2025, he finally achieved the milestone and now holds the record for most runs in a single season by a Mumbai Indians player.

This season has been special for Suryakumar. Not only has he been consistent with the bat, scoring more than 25 in every game of the league stage, but he also led MI in the season opener against CSK.
