IPL 2024: Three Players Who Can Replace Harry Brook in Delhi Capitals (DC) Squad
The England batter Harry Brook has ruled out of the entire IPL 2024 season due to personal reasons.
Just ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season start, the Delhi Capitals have suffered a big blow as their expensive England signing, Harry Brook, has pulled out of the entire tournament due to personal reasons.
They bought him in the IPL 2024 mini auction for INR 4 Crore. This would have been his second IPL season as he played in the IPL 2023 for Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he did not manage to show his potential and could only score 190 runs despite being given many chances.
Now Delhi Capitals will surely be looking to replace the explosive England batter with a similar kind of batter. On that note, let’s take a look at the top three players who can fill Harry Brook’s place in the Delhi Capitals squad for IPL 2024.
Three Players Who Can Replace Harry Brook in Delhi Capitals Squad:
Jake Fraser-McGurk
Reports from Australian news source Code Sports suggest that Delhi Capitals are looking to secure the services of Jake Fraser-McGurk for IPL 2024 as a replacement for Harry Brook.
Interestingly, Jake Fraser-McGurk showcased his batting prowess while representing Dubai Capitals in ILT20 earlier this year.
Notably, Dubai Capitals are the sister franchise of Delhi Capitals. Despite registering at the base price of INR 20 lakhs in the last IPL auction, the promising young batter did not receive any bids.
Josh Inglis
Josh Inglis is another great option. He set a hefty base price of INR 2 crore in the IPL 2024 auction but didn’t get any takers.
Inglis stepped in for Alex Carey during the Aussies’ rough start in the World Cup and immediately made his mark with a game-changing 58.
Last year, he blasted a blazing 110 in a T20I against India in Visakhapatnam, smashing it in just 50 balls. He has a lot of potential and can step in as a replacement for Harry Brook.
Reeza Hendricks
Reeza Hendricks, the South African batter, presents another intriguing choice to fill Harry Brook’s spot. Despite his impressive recent performances with the bat, Hendricks surprisingly remained unsold in the IPL 2024 auction.
With a total of 6124 runs in 213 T20 matches, boasting a strike rate of 127 and an average of 35.19, he’s well-equipped to step into the void left by Harry Brook.
