IPL 2024 – Match 48, LSG vs MI: Gerald Coetzee to Make a Comeback? Mumbai Indians Strongest Probable Playing 11 vs Lucknow Super Giants
Gerald Coetzee missed his previous match for Mumbai Indians
The 48th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will witness the clash of Lucknow Super Giants hosting the Mumbai Indians at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on April 30, Tuesday.
Mumbai Indians‘s ex-skipper Rohit Sharma will open the batting with his partner Ishan Kishan. In this game, Rohit will have to shield his batters from Mayank Yadav’s pace bowling, as Mumbai’s middle order, except Suryakumar Yadav, can be easily tied down by raw pace.
Kishan will serve as the wicketkeeper for Mumbai, while Yadav will take up the number 3 job as usual.
Tilak Varma and Nehal Wadhera will take the following spots, aiming to take down the spin duo of Krunal Pandya and Ravi Bishnoi in the middle overs.
Tim David and Hardik Pandya will provide the finishing kick to Mumbai’s batting, an area where they have lacked power and range against pace.
Mumbai’s middle order, except Yadav, is susceptible against back-of-length pace bowling, which will again be exploited by the Lucknow Super Giants pace attack.
Mohammad Nabi and Piyush Chawla will prove to be useful on a track that tends to slow down as the match progresses, making stroke-making a tough job.
Luke Wood will take up the new ball, looking for wickets upfront with his swing and left-arm angle posing challenges for the batters.
Jasprit Bumrah will again be the most important cog of the lineup. Bumrah, at his usual best, has often made games a 16-over affair with his bowling, shutting down the scoring rate of the opposition.

Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan (WK), Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya (C), Tim David, Nehal Wadhera, Mohammed Nabi, Luke Wood, Jasprit Bumrah, Piyush Chawla
