IPL 2024: After Gerald Coetzee, Mumbai Indians Hit by Yet Another Pacer Injury

Mumbai Indians pacer Dilshan Madushanka has suffered a hamstring injury.

Mumbai Indians suffered another blow as their newly recruited Sri Lanka left-arm pacer Dilshan Madushanka is unlikely to play the first few games for the five-time champions in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.

Dilshan Madushanka Likely To Miss First Few Games for Mumbai Indians

Notably, Madushanka sustained a hamstring injury during the recent ODI series against Bangladesh. The pacer pulled up midway through his seventh over, the 26th over of the innings, and walked off the field due to the injury and did not return to bowl that day.

Madushanka secured a ₹4.6 crore deal with the five-time champions following his standout performances in the white-ball format during the 2023 ODI World Cup.

Gerald Coetzee Doubtful for First Few Matches of IPL 2024

This marks a second setback for Mumbai Indians, with South African pacer Gerald Coetzee also facing doubts about his availability for the initial matches. Should both players be sidelined, Mumbai Indians could face significant challenges in finding adequate replacements for these talented pace bowlers.
