IPL 2023: Mumbai Indians’ Woes Continue As Another Pacer Set To Miss Tournament
After Bumrah, another pacer is set to be ruled out of IPL 2023.
Mumbai Indians (MI) have been dealt another significant blow as Jhye Richardson is unlikely to recover from the injury he picked up during BBL 2023, ruling him out for the entire IPL 2023 season.
The Australian pacer has also been ruled out of the upcoming three-match ODI series against India. He was among the 16 players chosen by Cricket Australia for the three ODIs against India.
Richardson has been struggling with soft-tissue injuries for the past two seasons, in addition to the shoulder injury he sustained in 2019.
Later, he delivered a sensational performance against England in December 2021 in Adelaide but he was sidelined for the next Test due to a heel injury and has not participated in Test cricket since then.
Mumbai Indians (MI) acquired the services of Australian pacer in the IPL 2023 auction by bidding his base price of INR 1.5 crore. Their chances may be affected significantly due to the unavailability of their star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, and now Jhye Richardson.
