Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 82 runs. Bengaluru had given a target of 195 runs while batting first. In response, KKR could only manage to score 112 runs for 9 wickets. With this win, Bengaluru has moved up to third place in the points table.
In the 28th match of the 13th season of IPL, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 82 runs. This is RCB’s biggest win in terms of runs against KKR. Earlier, Bangalore defeated Kolkata by 10 runs in 2019. With this win, Bengaluru has moved up to third place in the points table.
Bengaluru had given a target of 195 runs while batting first. In response, KKR could only manage to score 112 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. KKR’s 8 batsmen, including captain Dinesh Karthik, could not even touch double figures.
KKR’s Shubman Gill scored 34 runs, Rahul Tripathi and Andre Russell both scored 16-16 runs. Bengaluru’s Washington Sundar and Chris Morris got 2-2 wickets each. Navdeep Saini, Isuru Udana, Yuzvendra Chahal and Mohammad Siraj got 1-1 wickets.
Dinesh Karthik’s Failed to Impress
KKR captain Dinesh Karthik, the hero of the previous match, could score only one run in this match. He was bowled by Yuzvendra Chahal. After this, Eoin Morgan also could not sustain much and scored 8 runs and caught by Isuru Udana at the ball of Washington Sundar.

Earlier, RCB scored 194 runs for 2 wickets after winning the toss. AB de Villiers made a superb fifty off 23 balls. He was 73 not out off 33 balls. At the same time, Virat Kohli scored 33 runs off 28 balls. He hit only one four in his innings. Both scored 83 runs in the last 5 overs. KKR’s Andre Russell and Prasidh Krishna got one wicket each.

RCB opener batsman Aaron Finch and Devdutt Padikkal gave a decent start to RCB. There was a 67-run opening partnership between the two. Andre Russell was promoted to break this partnership and he was successful in the plan. He bowled Padikkal (32) while Finch (47) was dismissed by the Prasidh Krishna.
300 Wickets For Russell in T20 Cricket
Andre Russell has completed 300 wickets in his overall T20 career. He made Bengaluru opener Devadatta Padikkal his 300th wicket. Prior to this match, the West Indies all-rounder took 299 wickets at an average of 25.84 in 336 T20s played in international, domestic and all-country leagues.

AB de Villiers is adjudged Man of the Match for his phenomenal innings of 73 runs off 33 deliveries with the help of five fours and six sixes at a strike rate of 221.2.

One change was made in both teams. RCB replaced Mohammad Siraj at the place of Gurkeerat Singh Mann. At the same time, KKR replaced England batsman Tom Benton in place of Sunil Naren. This was Benton’s debut match in the IPL.
