Our Strategy Was to be Fearless: Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer was happy with their win over RCB as it was their fourth win in the five matches they have played so far. He said that their team has done immensely good work in the pressure situations.

“Getting four out of five, I will take that any day. Kudos to the boys and the temperament is shown in pressure situations. Our strategy was to be fearless and play with full freedom. We have got good youngsters in our side, so we just need to go out and execute our talent and skills “, said Shreyas Iyer in the Post-match presentation.

We Need to Keep up The Momentum: DC Captain

Further, he said that he is really glad that things are going in the way they have planned. He also mentioned how he and his mates talk about comprehensive victories when they come on the ground.

“I am very happy with the way things are going so far, and we need to keep up the momentum. When we come on to the ground we talk about comprehensive victories. The boys have been working really hard and we have maintained our temperament really well.

“It is important for us to get a good recovery. It isn’t easy going back into the bio bubble, so we try to spend time with each other and that is working really well for us”, he added.

Shreyas Iyer also mentioned Amit Mishra. He said that they are really sad with his departure as he was doing really well. He has been ruled out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League due to injury.

“It is saddening when a senior player (Mishra) who was doing amazingly well gets injured but we have got good replacements as well. Chopping and changing spoils the atmosphere in the team so we’re trying to keep it really simple”, said Shreyas Iyer.
