IPL 2020| Our Bowlers Will Give a Tough Time to CSK Batsmen: Rahul Tripathi
Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Rahul Tripathi believes that their bowlers are aware of the pitch in Abu Dhabi and this will help in creating troubles for the Chennai Super Kings batsmen.
In the 21st match of IPL 2020, Kolkata Knight Riders will face Chennai Super Kings on Wednesday. CSK won their previous match by 10 wickets against Kings XI Punjab, thanks to Faf du Plessis and Watson’s brilliant partnership of 181 runs.
Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Rahul Tripathi believes that their bowlers are aware of the pitch in Abu Dhabi and this will help in creating troubles for the Chennai Super Kings batsmen.
Tripathi described the stadium in Abu Dhabi as the domestic stadium for KKR. He said before the match against Chennai, they have been practising there for a long time. It is like a home ground for them as they have plenty of experience playing on that stadium.
KKR had played their first two matches of the season in Abu Dhabi, the second of which they won by seven wickets against SunRisers Hyderabad.
“We are coming from a game in Sharjah. The last time we played in Abu Dhabi we did really well, all the bowlers contributed and we have been practising here for a long time,” said Tripathi in a virtual press conference ahead of Wednesday’s match.
“It is like a home game for us. We have experience of playing here and all the bowlers are doing here. I am sure they know what lengths to bowl on this wicket. It is also a big ground, completely different from the one in Sharjah. So, I think our bowlers will give a tough time to the CSK batsmen.”
On October 3, in the match played in Sharjah, KKR bowlers could not stop the Delhi Capitals batsmen and the team suffered an 18-run defeat. But Rahul says that the team is well aware of the ground here and hence the team hopes to get better results against Chennai.
“Everyone is very positive, it is important to learn from your mistakes. There were lots of positives (in the match against DC), we are just looking forward to the next game. There is not much time between games in the IPL and you always have to be at your best. It is all about one victory and momentum can come back to you,” said Tripathi.
“It is an important game for us. Chennai won their last game, they have the momentum. We will be looking for a good start against them. Chennai is always a strong side in the IPL, an experienced side. If we play to the best of our abilities I am sure we will be on the winning side.”
Chennai Super Kings lost 3 matches after defeating Mumbai Indians in the opening match, but won their previous match against Kings XI Punjab, thanks to Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis’ 181-run partnership. On the other hand, for KKR, veterans like Dinesh Karthik and Andre Russell have not returned to form from a long time and all-rounder Sunil Narine has also proved dull. In such a situation, KKR will have to improve the game.
